Systematics in the community – IoD Essex Branch Chairmanship

Systematics’ very own Christine Bhatt was appointed as Essex Branch Chair at the Institute of Directors (IoD) on 18 May 2017.

The honour followed a reccommendation put forward by the Committee earlier in the year.

Alan Fitzwater, Regional Engagement Director at the IoD, said: ”I am delighted to confirm that the IoD board approved the appointment of Christine Bhatt for this important volunteer role. This is an engaging and challenging position within the IoD, and we feel that Christine will go a long way to contribute towards the long-term successes of the Institute”.

Christine said: “It is a great honour to be elected as the Chair for IoD Essex, particularly as it is now more important than ever for IoD members to guide their organisations through the turbulent times that we as a business community face, making implementation of sound business practices a must for all our organisations.

“We will no doubt face many challenges during Brexit negotiations, but coming together as a business community will help us to develop current and future requirements for the benefits of the industries that we work with.”

The Institute of Directors (IoD) has been supporting businesses and their owners and managers since 1903.

As the UK’s longest-running organisation for professional leaders, the IoD is dedicated to supporting its members, encouraging entrepreneurial activity and promoting responsible business practices for the benefit of the business community and society as a whole.

The IoD is the voice of businesses of all shapes and sizes across the UK. It supports its members through 48 regional branches, allowing it to be influential at a local level, as well as nationally. The IoD members are some of the most skilled and prominent leaders in the UK, from start-up entrepreneurs to FTSE board members, directors in the public sector and CEOs of multinational organisations.

As an independent association of business leaders, its main objective is to make sure that business leaders’ views are taken into account when the Government is reviewing policy, legislation or seeking the opinions of the wider business community.
